"If the golden era of Hollywood defined Main Street America . . . then Floral Park proudly stands as its quintessential vintage neighborhood"
The History
of Floral Park residential subdivision of Floral Park
began in the early 1920's. The area slowly began a transition from orange,
avocado, walnut groves and several farm houses of early pioneer days to fancy
new homes reminiscent of the European architecture made popular by the returning
Doughboys of World War I. The architectural styles with names such as English
Tudor, French Normandy and Georgian Revival began to mix with the popular
California Craftsman, Spanish Colonial, Italianate and Storybook designs.
Floral Park residents have a strong sense of community. Residents of Floral
Park gather throughout the year to celebrate the 4th of July Freedom Fest,
Summer Concert, and Winter Holiday Event. As one of Orange County's finest
examples of historic real estate preservation, visitors and residents alike
are equally impressed by Floral Park's charm. One resident described life
at Floral Park as…”stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting".
The weekend street scenes of this warm and vibrant neighborhood are a family
heaven, where lemonade stands, tree houses and bright red Radio-Flyer wagons
are the norm. If the golden era of Hollywood defined Main Street America .
. . then Floral Park proudly stands as its quintessential vintage neighborhood.
The
Floral Park Neighborhood Association
(FPNA) is one of the finest community organizations found
in Southern California.
